Spark received the license from Porsche to replicate the vehicles, which were initially presented as a study for the 70th anniversary of the sports car manufacturer and then went into the series: The strictly limited exclusive model of the puristic Porsche 911 Speedster. The open two seater came in a limited edition with 1,948 units on the street. The quantity reminds on the Porsche 356 No. 1 Roadster, which got its operating license on June 8th, 1948, and thus justified the campagne 70 years Posche, for which events were held worldwide in 2018 and the associated hashtag was used. The scale 1:43 and 1:18 modelcars have long since found their collectors, but Spark has also taken on the increasingly large scale and delivered the Speedster in 1:12 under the item number WAP0239300K84A.
The ready-to-drive 911 Speedster Concept, which Porsche presented in the Heritage version for the first time on the anniversary day in Zuffenhausen, was developed at the Porsche Motorsport Center in Weissach. Porsche Style and the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur were significantly involved. Common features of all 911 Speedsters, which can also be found in the miniature version of the small series based on the 991 II series shown here, are the shortened window frame with lowered cowl and the correspondingly smaller side windows, as well as the carbon fiber rear cover with a double hood behind the front seats. All details, i.e. the windshield as well as the replica of the tail, which is heavily modified compared to the cabriolet, can of course be found in an appearance that corresponds to the prototype in the Spark models, which measure around 36 centimeters in length.
Fenders, front hood and rear cover exist at the role model of light carbon fiber composite; the modelcars are produced of the high quality polyurethan resin as we basically don't know any different from Spark. That, however, means also that doors and hoods remain closed: This can be borne with the interior, which is freely accessible from above. The six-cylinder-boxer-engine of the 911 Speedster 2019 stays hidden in the model, produces 375 kW / 510 hp at the role model and brings the two seater in four seconds to 100 kilometers per hour. Additionally, the drive set reaches numbers of revolutions from up to 9,000/min and delivers 470 Newton meters (Nm) of maximum torque. The Speedster reaches a high speed of 310 kilometers per hour. The recommended retail price was 269,274.00 EUR VAT included.
