At the same time, the WRT team led by team boss Vincent Vosse changed manufacturers after many years of collaboration with Audi and completed its GT racing appearances together with BMW M Motorsport.

Nine-time motorcycle world champion and one of the most successful motorcycle racers in the world, Valentino Rossi, sat in the cockpit of one of the cars. He competed in the BMW M4 GT3 for the first time in the 2023 season and, together with his teammates Sean Gelael, Maxime Martin, Tim Whale and Max Hesse, achieved an impressive third place in the 24-hour race in Dubai.

At the Sprint Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe in Misano, Italy in July 2023, Valentino Rossi and Maxime Martin took the first victory of his GT3 career. The experienced Belgian works driver and DTM veteran Maxime Martin supported his Italian colleague to the best of his ability on home soil.

Martin started the race from third position behind the sister car with starting number 32 on pole position, driven by Laurens Vanthoor and the Audi of Patric Niederhauser in second place. But a good pit-stop management and Rossi's faster pace in the BMW compared to the Audi allowed Rossi and Martin to triumph in the end. An additional highlight was the fact that the two top drivers for BMW M Motorsport won the first sprint race since 2015.

The successful car in a blue-black design with bright yellow accents and the prestigious starting number 46 is available as a limited edition from Minichamps in 1:18 in the highest quality. It has opening doors, hood and trunk as well as a true-to-original interior and engine compartment. The “Model Car of the Year 2023” also comes in a unique collector’s folding box with pictures of the beaming winners.
