McLaren in Bahrain 2021 - kick-off for a memorable season

McLaren in Bahrain 2021 - kick-off for a memorable season

back to blog overview

Inseparable, McLaren belongs to the Formula 1. The British racing team has many fans behind them. This is not only due to their eventful history with great names and big successes. McLaren's current driver line-up - Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo - is also doing well.

The British-Australian duo also knows how to entertain fans besides the track with plenty of humour. For the loyal followers of the McLaren team, Minichamps has now released two strictly limited models.

In the end, McLaren also convinced on the track in the Formula 1-season 2021. The team, led by the German team boss Andreas Seidl, was on position four in the constructor score after 22 races.

The double victory in Monza stands out as a special highlight. Daniel Ricciardo was leading the race early in the Royal Park and Lando Norris was also fighting for the podiums. When the world championship rivals Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen took each other out of the race in the first chicane, the way to a one-two was finally clear. It was Daniel Ricciardo's eighth Grand Prix win and Lando Norris' best result to date in Formula 1. McLaren celebrated their first triumph since Lewis Hamilton's victory in Texas in 2012 and their first one-two since the Canada Grand Prize 2010.

Already right from the start, McLaren's season got off promisingly in Bahrain. Lando Norris, who entered Formula 1 with the team in 2019, successfully started his third season in the premier class with fourth place. The basis for this was a strong initial phase, in which the Briton also fought past Charles Leclerc's Ferrari and ultimately only had Hamilton, Verstappen and Bottas ahead of him at the finish. For Daniel Ricciardo, it was his first race in a McLaren after moving from Renault. With seventh place, the Australian immediately finished in the points.

Minichamps has faithfully produced the two McLaren MCL35M from the opening race in Bahrain in scale 1:18, from diecast and exclusively for ck-modelcars. The models are limited to 150 pieces each and are delivered in a collector's folding box to present the cars in a particularly beautiful way. Two special keepsakes to mark the start of a memorable McLaren Formula 1 season.
