The legendary "Aufschrieb", the autobiography of the double Rally World Champion, first published in 2002, is now being reissued, expanded and revised after the Evo2 version of 2012. More than 50 new pictures, thirty-two more pages, plus the World Championship year of 1980 seen from the perspective of top filmmaker Helmut Deimel as well as an addition about the most recent eight years in Walter’s life are a reason to celebrate, in this, the fortieth year of his first World Championship title.

Walter Röhrl continues to be one of the most popular sports personalities in Germany. The name of the tall Bavarian is inseparably linked to the wild times of rallying, when the WRC was held on the toughest tracks around the globe with extreme cars such as the Audi Quattro E2, the Lancia Rally 037 and the Opel Ascona 400.

Now the only truly complete and comprehensive work about Walter’s life and career is being released, freshly made with numerous additions and a veritable album-full of new pictures - first and foremost with exciting material from the first World Championship year of 1980.

Apart from Helmut Deimel, Röhrl's companions such as co-driver Christian Geistdörfer, Audi chief engineer Dieter Basche and Opel's head of technology Karl-Heinz Goldstein have also contributed their very personal Röhrl stories. They tell vivid tales that can only be known by those who have sat in a cockpit with the Regensburg ace or slaved away for weeks on end alongside him during extended tests.
