There's really nothing more to say about this model car. But we'll do it anyway! The Porsche 911 RWB Sopranos "Pink Pig" from 2020 is not only a unique combination of motorsport history, Japanese tuning art and contemporary pop culture. Inspired by the legendary Porsche 917/20 "Pink Pig", which caused a sensation in Le Mans in 1971 with the unforgettable Metzger-design-paintwork, the 911 (993) "The Soprano" is a unique piece with a very special story.
The 911, converted by tuning legend Akira Nakai with a hand-made widebody kit, was originally black and gold. The RAUH-Welt front window lettering, as well as the "The Sopranos" lettering, which gives the RWB Porsche its nickname, are emblazoned in striking gold. The rest of the vehicle looks almost eerie in the deepest black - in keeping with the HBO mafia series "The Sopranos".
The Porsche bears the series' lettering primarily because its owner is a fan. But it cannot be denied that it is similar to RAUH-Welt Begriff and Akira Nakai, who, like "The Sopranos", stands for rough aesthetics, elegance and at the same time rebellion and polarization.
The first RWB Porsche produced for China exists today in various model versions. The most famous is the one in the "Pink Pig" design. The matching model car is available in scale 1:18 from Solido with steerable front wheels and opening doors.
