For the following year, the Thai driver only had the role of reserve driver, which is why he concentrated on the DTM commitment in the Red Bull-supported Ferrari 488 GT3 from AF Corse in 2021. For the 2022 season, Albon finally left the Red Bull squad and started his comeback season in the premier class with Williams Racing.

As a teammate of Nicholas Latifi, Albon, who was racing under the Thai flag, began a new phase in his career. With the sporty inferior Williams FW44, the British native repeatedly set the tone and clearly had his teammate Latifi under control in both qualifying and race duels.

Despite the strong performance, at the end of the season it was only enough for 19th place in the World Championship. But after the difficult first year together with Williams, there was a significant step forward in the 2023 season. While Albon only collected four points in 2022, it was 27 points in 2023 and thus 13th place in the championship. This season he was also superior to his new teammate Logan Sargeant.

For Alex Albon's return to Formula 1 in 2022, Minichamps has released two models. On the one hand, the vehicle from the Bahrain Grand Prix is available - Albon's first race after his return. The Thai driver impressed on his debut in the #23 Williams and finished the race in a strong 13th place.

The second model comes from the new Grand Prix in Miami. After finishing 18th in qualifying, Albon showed a strong race and worked his way up to ninth place. With this placement he collected points for the second time in the season and celebrated his best placement of the year.

Both models were produced in a limited edition in scale 1:43 and exclusively for ck-modelcars. The car from Bahrain is limited to 222 examples. 150 pieces of the Williams from Miami are available. The models are also delivered in a high-cover collector's packaging.
