The first race weekend of the season was not just about trophies, but also about filming for the new format CK Racing TV.
As a reminder: In the previous year, the 39-year-old completed a full racing season for the first time. Krombach drove a Porsche Cayman GT4 CS MR for the team of Le Mans legend Timo Bernhard and thus achieved one or two notable successes in the Porsche Sports Cup. Nothing should be left to chance so that the entrepreneur and his 17-year-old teammate Daniel Gregor can build on this.
"We dared to take a special step for the preparation phase," explains Christoph Krombach. “Instead of a normal test where we only do practice laps, we decided to take part in the GTC Race in Hockenheim. This means that we will complete a race weekend in a different series. With this we gain the same experience, but under competitive conditions with opponents on the track.”
Although results were of secondary importance there, the yield on the traditional circuit in Baden-Württemberg was impressive: the two drivers were entitled to fourth place in the endurance race and victory in the trophy classification after the event from April 28th to 30th.
Viewers will soon be able to see behind the scenes of the race engagement on YouTube. Christoph Krombach has set himself the goal of letting fans participate in what is happening and has initiated his own video series for this purpose. “Fans often only see what happens in the race. There are so many exciting stories going on in the background. We'll take this up. The weekend in Hockenheim was already used for a film crew to accompany us,” he says.
The event and all happenings from Hockenheim and more topics will be available shortly on the YouTube-Channel and CK-TV.
