24h Nürburgring 2023: Our tips for the highlight of the season!

24h Nürburgring 2023: Our tips for the highlight of the season!

back to blog overview

Motorsport fans from all over the world will soon come back to the tranquil Eifel to celebrate the highlight of every season: the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring.

Automobile-enthusiasts pitch their tents and gather all around the unique race track, which is 25.378 kilometers long in the 24-hour-version. In a very short time, the "Green Hell" is transformed into a pilgrimage village full of like-minded people.

The event, which takes place from May 18th to 21st, 2023, offers a varied supporting program in addition to the actual 24-hour race. Smaller racing series, such as the RCN (Rundstrecke-Challenge Nürburgring) look forward to the support of the fans, as do the touring car legends or the Cup and Touring Car Trophy, in which historic vehicles worth seeing start.

Visitors can purchase various tickets on the website of the 24-hour race. The BMW Grandstand or the AMG Arena directly on the Grand Prix track offer the best view of the start and finish. During the race it is worth visiting the paddock or driving to individual sections of the route such as Brünnchen, Adenauer Forst or the jumping hill at Pflanzgarten. Those who want to experience the atmosphere along the route up close have the opportunity to rent e-bikes from various bike shops and explore the festival atmosphere around the Nordschleife on their own.

In addition to the highlights on the track, fans can also look forward to many exciting offers away from the asphalt. The obligatory ride on the Ferris wheel with a view of the illuminated paddock in the evening is a must, as is a visit to the numerous exhibitors who invite you to discover and participate. Here you can compare your own reaction speed with that of a racing driver, try out a rollover in the simulator or take a seat in the sim racing seat.

The special offer from ck-modelcars with a stand in the Ring Boulevard and the new shop on the Nordschleife access road in Breidscheid makes collectors' hearts beat faster. In this way, real fans can take the cars from the racetrack home in miniature format. The wide range of products ranges from crowd favorites such as the "Grello" to the winners of the 24-hour races of the last five years to a wide variety of historic vehicles. A visit that can only be worthwhile for young and old.

Since so much action is known to make you hungry, the physical well-being of the fans is also well taken care of in Nürburg and the surrounding area. Of course there are booth with sausages, currywurst fries and other delicacies everywhere, but the restaurateurs around the most beautiful racetrack in the world also have a lot to offer for a cozy stop. A Schnitzel in the "Restaurant zur Nürburg" at the foot of this one with a breathtaking view over the Eifel is just as possible as a look at the menus of the "Lindenhof" or a visit to the cult restaurant "Pistenklause" in Nürburg. The restaurants in the Lindner and Dorint hotels right by the paddock also delight more discerning guests with great kitchen and friendly service. The Eifeldorf directly opposite the Ringboulevard offers additional variety with the Bitburger Gasthaus and the LUCIA Pollo Italiano.

If you are looking for even more culinary delights, you should take the time for a trip to the scenic town of Adenau. The vehicles and teams are traditionally presented at the start of the 24-hour race in downtown Adenau, and there is then enough time to let the evening fade away.

Here you can choose from excellent home cooking in the restaurant "Zur Gemütlichen Ecke" to doner kebabs at "Mr. Döner" or "Ali Baba" and pizza and pasta at "Pinocchio" or "MEDITERRANEO", to delicious burgers in the restaurant and hotel "Blaue Ecke" - something for everyone. A visit to the cult Italian "Ventisette 27" directly at the entrance in Breidscheid should not be missed. If you want to stock up on grilled meat, the last camping utensils or other everyday necessities, there are several supermarkets in Adenau with special opening times for the 24-hour race.
