Jim Clark, born 1936 in Scotland, the overarching driver of the 60's was . He was 1963 and 1965 world champion and lost the title in 1962 and 1964 respectively in the last race only by technical defects. He won a total of 25 Grands Prix , to 1965 as the first European since 1916, the 500-mile race at Indianapolis. 33 times he was on pole position in 28 Grand Prix he drove the fastest lap.
