ADAC GT Masters 2018
The most thrilling ADAC GT Masters season so far ended with the closest title fight: from the start of the season at Oschersleben until the captivating finale of an action-packed season at Hockenheim, the 2018 ADAC GT Masters excited on seven weekends in Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria and The Netherlands. Eight brands and the best teams in GT racing battle for the title in one of the world’s leading GT series. Next to Ferrari making its return, Honda is represented in the field for the first time with its NSX GT3. Seven former champions are up against high-class drivers such as sports car world champion Timo Bernhard, two-time DTM champion Timo Scheider, DTM ace Jamie Green, sports car specialist Stefan Mücke or 24h Nürburgring winner Markus Winkelhock.
From a sporting perspective, the series’ twelfth season was more balanced and contested than ever before. Competition in the field of the over 600hp strong super sports car is incredibly close, many drivers alternate in the top three. Eventually, 22 different drivers have made it onto the top step of the podium, more than ever before. Over the course of the season, Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, Corvette and Mercedes-AMG each take turns in the lead of the standings. These brands decide the battle for the title among them. In an entertaining finale, Porsche wins its first title since 2008 with Robert Renauer and Mathieu Jaminet, suitably in the year of the 70thanniversary of the brand.
The inaugural ADAC GT Masters annual reviews one of the best seasons in the series to date and documents the exciting battle for the title with its big and small stories and all the backgrounds. Next to interesting technical insights, the book also includes fascinating images from the seven race weekends. A comprehensive statistics section with details about teams and drivers as well as results is making the book a must-have for motorsport fans and a reference work nobody can do without.
