27.02.2018Exclusive model: Volkswagen Golf I Convertible 1992 in 1:18

The two resourceful model car dealers, Modelissimo and Ck-modelcars.de, have implemented another cooperation and, in collaboration with Norev, launched a limited edition VW Golf I Cabriolet. Limited to only 1,000 pcs.. The miniature is made of die-cast zinc and traces a rather late version of the open classic: The dealers have taken the model year 1992 as a prototype. This issue already had the all-round spoiler set with sill extensions and plastic aprons on the bow and stern, which has been installed since 1987, so significantly changed compared to the original version. Thanks to the naturally open roof, the collector gains first-class insight into the design and details of the interior, which the French from Vaulx-en-Vaulin have faithfully reproduced as expected.

The fact that the look of the model fits perfectly with that of the model will be especially noticeable to those of you who grew up with the vehicle. After all, the Volkswagen Golf I Cabriolet was released 39 years ago, in 1979! So long since the first editions have received the vintage license plate. Boy, how time flies. From 1992, the Golf Cabriolet received on request a driver's airbag and was only delivered with the 1.8-liter four-cylinder, which brought it to 72 kW / 98 hp; switched by five-speed manual or three-speed automatic. Norev took a close look at the 1992 version and recreated the rough ribbed radiator grille of the 1987 facelift on the model with the item number very accurately. This model, for a fair price, is for us in this finish a lot of fun!
