At last year's IAA, the Audi RS 4 Avant celebrated its premiere. The high-performance combination is the successor to the original version of this genre, the Audi RS 2. This debuted in 1994 and was the result of a cooperation between the sports car manufacturer Porsche and the Audi AG; at that time still far from belonging under a corporate roof, but already friendly with each other. The RS 2 was based on the Audi 80 Avant type B4 and received in Zuffenhausen the modifications that made him an independent vehicle. The Porsche logo also graced the RS 2 Avant. Calculated on 2,200 units, 2,891 specimens were ultimately built and laid the foundation for Audi AG's continued success in the field of high-performance sports combo.
The Audi RS 2 was already in the color Nogaroblue, in which the Ingolstadt presented the Audi RS 4 Avant, as the series has been called since 1999. At the IAA 2017, the current, the fourth generation has appeared. Responding to the reputation of the brand and the model, the new RS 4 Avant has plenty of power: its 2.9 liter TFSI engine delivers 331 kW / 450 hp and applies 600 Nm of torque to the crankshaft. The V6 Biturbo thus sees itself as a sporting spearhead of the A4 family; as expected, standard with the quattro all-wheel drive. In an inspiring 4.1 seconds, the family combined accelerates to 100 km / h; the top speed is reduced at 250. We are sure: It will be even faster, but of course the potential will not be used for safety reasons!
The details of Spark
The first vehicles should come to the customer at the beginning of 2018, ie at the same time as the model car that is produced by the licensee Spark. This also presents itself in the classic Nogara blue and traces the lines of the from 79,800 euros available five-door exactly. Spark has exactly hit the look of the fast-paced prototype and thrilled with the details. First and foremost, there are the slavishly correctly imitated honeycombs in the radiator grille. A highlight are the five-twin-spoke wheels in small format, which stand in the Spark-selected version Edge glossy with 2,300 euros in the surcharge list. Thus, the model and the model coming in Audi packaging look equally good. At the end it remains to be noted that this new edition in 1: 1 and 1:43 may be the closest to the original RS 2.
