15.07.2015New Herpa: VW Touareg 2015 / Facelift in scale 1:43

In October 2014 Volkswagen presented the revised Touareg. The original four-door first presented in 2010  has been adapted to the lines of the latest looks of the vehicles from VW, especially in the lower front apron through small retouching. Herpa was granted a license to manufacture miniatures to the luxury car. As a so-called advertising model, the Touareg came out  in scale  1:43 and in 4 colors.

Under the item number 7P1.099.300.A.B5K it is available  in Reef Blue Metallic, black (7P1.099.300.A.C9X) in Pure White (7P1.099.300.A.SWL) and under number 7P1.099.300 .A.A7W in Light Silver Metallic. Still all models share a rich equipment, the small Touareg comes with a large glass roof and the alloy wheel Karakum, which costs 970.00 euros extra and carries tires of size 255/55 R18.

The data and its implementation

As you know as a collector, perhaps, the model cars are made in close cooperation between the carmaker and the model maker. Volkswagen gives its  design data from his computer in to Herpa, in case of the Touareg , to implement the requirements commensurate with the requirements of model making. If the mold makers  from Dietenhofen for example, reduce  a detail by a factor of 43, it may not be seen on the model anymore.

The art of dealing with that fact and implement the sizes of details  decides whether the model is good or bad. Herpa has done a very good job  with the Touareg 1:43 . Especially the front with the slavishly correctly simulated headlamps and their inner life we like a lot. The adjustments to the front apron is technically flawless; just as the detailing of the main grille, its lines between the chrome struts: Knowledgeable and well done.

Solid model at a fair price

Only the rather superficially engraved door handles distract a little bit. The competitors may be better; also Herpa  in designing the exterior mirror housings  in the very successful models of the VW Golf VII . Both the design and the coloring was perfect. The seat of the glazing of the cabin is satisfactory; the interior fitted with a variety of details.

The wood finishes are elaborately highlighted and provided with a silver bezel. Specifically, the model in Blue Metallic Reef is emphasized in this discipline. The design of the dashboard, seat design and interior door panels correspond in appearance and look as good on the model, as the outer appearance of the Touareg in 1:43. For 29.95 euros a solid model for a fair price.
