In December 1997, Michael Schumacher tested the new F300 on Ferrari’s own track in Fiorano. However, the completely black-painted car looked anything but a typical Ferrari from Maranello.
The unusual choice of color was intended to hide the changes to the car from the eyes of the competition. The previously used slicks had to give way to grooved tires, and due to the new technical regulations, the cars became a full 20 centimeters narrower, shrinking from 2.00 to 1.80 meters.
With the new F300, Michael Schumacher celebrated six victories in sixteen races, proving his competitiveness. However, the world championship title went to Mika Häkkinen, leaving Schumacher just behind his rival as runner-up.
The black Ferrari F300 test car was already released in scale 1:18 and is now also available in the larger scale of 1:12. With its authentic cockpit replica, the included driver figure, and its impressive size, this model is an absolute highlight for any Ferrari fan and a must-have for every display case.
