09.07.2024From the bike into the race car: Valentino Rossi's iconic helmet designs

With his nine World Championship titles in the MotoGP, Valentino Rossi is one of the most successfull motorbike racers of all time. After the Italian had finished his MotoGP-career in 2021, he competed for the Belgian team WRT in the GT World Challenge Europe in 2022. For the 2023 season, Vincent Vosse's team switched brands to BMW M Motorsport. Rossi then competed with a BMW M4 GT3.

The first successes were not long in coming. At the beginning of the season, Rossi finished third overall in the 24-hour race in Dubai, which was his first overall podium in endurance racing.

Later in the year, the nine-time motorcycle world champion started in the Sprint Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe together with BMW factory driver Maxime Martin. The duo also received support from BMW veteran Augusto Farfus for the five endurance races in the series. Victory was not long in coming. Rossi triumphed in front of his home crowd at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Rossi also started in the Road To Le Mans race as part of the supporting program for the 100th anniversary of the 24-hour race in Le Mans. Together with Jérôme Policand, Rossi promptly won the GT3 class, laying the foundation for his current involvement in the endurance world championship.

To mark this successful season, helmet manufacturer Bell has now launched the Italian's helmet in scale 1:2. Inspired by Rossi's iconic helmet designs from earlier MotoGP times, the head protection with the flame design is held in the two colors of his vehicle for the 2023 season. The model is made in the usual high quality and is a detailed replica of the original with an opening visor.
