Ferrari 156 Sharknose in scale 1:18

In today's blog we report on the beginnings and the first world championship title of the Scuderia Ferrari, at which the Ferrari 156 is significantly involved and which literally has its nickname due to its sharkmouth. The replica of the Ferrari 156 is well done by the label CMR. The filagree spoke wheels, the windshield and the true to detail cockpit has been built with a lot of care and is in no way inferior to the original. The models, made from diecast in scale 1:18 even have steerable front wheels. The Ferrari 156 is produced exclulsively for ck-modelcars and modelissimo and available in our shop in eight different versions.

Three of the eight models were originally driven by Phil Hill, who was the first American to start Formula 1 to become world champion in 1961 with the Ferrari 156. From this year Hills Ferrari with starting number 2, from the GP participation in Italy, the vehicle with starting number 38, with which Hill started in Monaco, and also the starting number 4, with which he competed the Belgium GP, are available in the shop. Hill's compatriot Richie Ginther also got behind the wheel of the Ferrari 156 that same year. CMR also dedicates two models to him. The start number 6 with which Ginther finished third at the GP in Belgium and the start number 18 with which Ginther took part in the GP in France in 1961. Two other cars from the said French GP will also find their place on the starting grid of CMR. The Ferrari 156 with starting number 50 with which Giancarlo Baghetti won the GP in France and the vehicle with starting number 20 that was driven by Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips. Vehicle number 8 is that of the Ferrari 156 with which Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips also won the Dutch GP in the same year and bears starting number 3.

Unfortunately, Berghe von Trips had a fatal accident at the GP of Monza and still almost became world champion this year. His teammate Phil Hill became world champion instead with just one point ahead of Berghe von Trips at the end of the season. The Ferrari 156 reminds on the early times of Formula 1 and belongs to one of the most legendary sports cars of all times and is the first Ferrari in Formula 1 with mid-engine concept. The V6 engine of the 156 was developed by the young engineer Mauro Forghieri and achieved 140 kW / 190 hp from its 1.5 liter displacement. Carlo Chiti, however, was responsible for the construction of the 156.
