The scale 1:18 inspires many modelcar collectors and has long since established itself as a constant in the market. Thus it was to be expected that the Turbo-version of the Porsche 992 is going to appear in this format. This is now the case: In the high-quality black packaging that is usuasl for the brand, the 2020 Porsche 911 Turbo S is available under item number WAP02117A0L001 in classic GT silver metallic and under WAP02117B0L002 in deep black metallic. The miniatures dispense with functional parts, but have steerable front wheels. In the appearance, the reproduction and elaboration of the lines, the miniatures are handcrafted particularly impressive with the detailing of the front and rear aprons as well as the reproduction of the alloy wheels and the interior. And the model?
The sports car manufacturer Porsche presented the new generation of the 911 Turbo in the begin of March 2020 and announced the top model as stronger, more driving dynamics and more comfortable than ever. The sports car, based on the model series 992 comes directly as coupe and convertible and starts with a new 3.8 liter six-cylinder. Porsche figured the power with 478 kW / 650 hp. Supported by two VTG-chargers it is 51 kW / 70 hp more than its predecessor. The maximum torque is reached with 800 Newton meters (Nm) now and thus 50 Nm more than the type 991. The Porsche 911 Turbo S 2020 accelerates in 2.7 seconds to 100 kilometers per hour; the top speed is given with 330 kilometers per hour. Its base price in Germany is 218,181 euros including VAT.
That Minichamps transferred the shape and the appearance of the new Porsche 911 Turbo S perfectly into the scale 1:18 can be taken for granted. It is not a copy of the predecessor, because the 911 Turbo S of the model series 992 has grown significantly: The body stands out 45 millimeters wider on the street at the front axle (1,840 millimeters), the overall width at the rear axle is now 1,900 millimeters (plus 20 millimeters), so proper ten centimeters more! At the front axle, the track has increased by 42 millimeters, at the rear axle about ten millimeters. The larger rear spoiler is built for even more downforce. This are changes that Minichamps of course has taken into account with the development of the modelcar from diecast. What is quite successful, as a look at the models masterfully made by Minichamps shows!
