View into the future: The Peugeot e-Legend Concept

back to blog overview

The modelcars in scale 1:18 are mega: The razor sharp and elegant lines of the role model reproduce the breath-taking study presented in 2018

Today and suitable for the weekend, we want to deal with the future, which promises to become golden: With the Peugeot e-Legend Concept, Ottomobile and Ottomodels are bringing modelcars under item number OT323, which bring a preview of the time of autonomous driving to the collectors' showcases. We quote: “In our fast-moving, digitized and networked world, we are constantly exposed to external influences. Rest and time for ourselves is becoming more and more precious. Autonomous driving allows us to regain a bit of valuable time in everyday life and to use it for us in the vehicle!” There it is, the golden future: More time to read this blog or to check out the new products in the webshop of ck-modelcars.de, isn't that the perfect way to enjoy the future in the car? A question we'll try to answer later in the article.

But first, we want to take closer look at the minatures of the Peugeot e-Legend Concept, whose role model was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2018. The design of the car, developed under the code P 18, in its grey coloring with a champagne note and a touch of chrome in the livery reminds on the Peugeot 504 coupe from the 1970s. Over a length of 4.65 meters, the study offers classic contours, clear and sharp lines as well as glass surfaces that are almost atypical for today's times. The viewer of the French can look forward to metal-framed panes. The radiator grill takes up the entire front. Integrated into it: LED daytime running lights with two double modules. The design of the lights at the rear also conveys that ultra-modern times have dawned. The reductions in the front apron and the light alloy rims are visual highlights.

Ottomobile, however, did not only copy the external characteristics of the study, but also the interior, which is equipped with blue silk velvet and dark grained paldao wood. This gives a classic impression and is replicated in a perfect way. As is customary with the models made of high-quality polyurethane cast resin, doors and hoods remain closed. The technology that delivers the 339 kW / 462 hp remains hidden. This helps the model to accelerate to 100 km/h in four seconds. Peugeot Style Director Gilles Vidal presented the Peugeot e-Legend at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Italy: 20,000 vehicles would have to be built to justify the calculated production costs. They would then cost from 80,000 euros each. It's good that the 3,000 models from Ottomobile are cheaper.

Oh yes, the answer to the question is still pending. So, the members of the editorial staff of this blog and the whole team of the company actually like to drive theirselves: Having fun to drive a car, this is the same impetus to collect modlecars. Of course: Status and environmental issues spoil the pleasure of driving for drivers, but you have to give the car industry one thing: They did a lot to adjust the products to be more environmetally friendly! Are electric cars the last word in wisdom? Rare earths and raw materials for batteries, or is it better to rely on hydrogen? There are still many more questions to be answered in this regard, but one thing we can finally clarify: The joy of the modelcars - especially those for the Peugeot e-Legend Concept from Ottomobile in the format 1:18 - we will definitely not let it be taken from us, right, friends?
