About a year ago, Mercedes-Benz completed its E-Class family with the new A 238 E-Class Cabriolet. The open four-seater received a classic soft top and is positioned as a full four-seater between the C-Class Cabriolet and the open offshoot of the S-Class. The vehicle was presented at the Geneva International Motor Show 2017 as the fifth member of the completely renewed E-Class. IScale has now supplied a shapely, in the artisanal execution very nice model car to licensor Mercedes-Benz. The Stuttgart carmaker delivers the miniatures in aragonite silver under the item number B66960405 in the house accessory shops and the selected retailers. Not only is the quality praised, but also the fact that the model car comes with a removable soft top.
With the top down, the E-Class Cabriolet resembles the silhouette of the E-Class Coupé and sports the same expressive proportions that iScale has perfectly taken to the very last corner and transferred to the model. The look of the miniature in the scale 1:43 coincides without restriction with the purist, area-specific design of the prototype with its reduced lines. "The passion for exceptional vehicles that we share with our customers is reflected in a special way in our new E-Class Cabriolet, which offers comfort and luxury in the open air," says Britta Seeger, board member of Daimler AG. responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars sales of the convertible from the middle class.
Known and new details
A striking front end with deeply positioned diamond grille and central star is by nature the most important distinguishing feature of a Mercedes-Benz sports car. It fits even the convertible well. Flat LED rear lights emphasize the sporty character. They provide the model with a brilliant appearance that is reminiscent of the glow of a jet engine. New is a tail light staging that greets and dismisses the vehicle user with a light sequence. The model car does not have this, unfortunately. Opposite the sedan, the convertible is lowered by 15 millimeters; the replicas of the standard 17-inch alloy wheels are a feast for the eyes. Compared to its predecessor, the E-Class Cabriolet has grown both in length, in width and in wheelbase, because it is no longer based on the C-Class.
With a vehicle length of 4,826 millimeters, a vehicle width of 1,860 and a height of 1,428 millimeters, the new E-Class Cabriolet surpasses it significantly. Alone in the length are 12 centimeters. About 10 centimeters more has the fund of the novice to offer. The engine range is broad as usual and includes four- and six-cylinder diesel or gasoline; all switched by a nine speed automatic. The E 350 takes a special position as a hybrid vehicle in the range. The 220 kW / 299 hp petrol engine with turbo is supported by a 10 kW / 14 hp electric motor. Unfortunately, we do not see anything of the propulsion kits on the model car, because doors and bonnets remain closed in zinc die-cast miniature as is usual in this size. How nice that we have through the roof to be removed a great insight into the highly detailed interior.
