Good start into the week with 2extendet Porsche 1:43

Good start into the week with 2extendet Porsche 1:43

back to blog overview

With the Porsche Panamera and the reconstruction of an early 911 two models come to the market, which rise a specific question

Porsche 911 Troutman und Barnes 1972
Porsche Ruf Panamera RXL im Maßstab 1:43 GLM
Matrix Modellauto Porsche 911 Troutmann Barnes 1972
Modellauto Porsche Panamera 1:43

After Lewis Hamiltons victory  at the traditional Formula 1 race at Silverstone there is no doubt  that the Brit is the top candidate for the world championship in 2015 again. That his   "tools" in the scales 1:43 and 1:18 are already in the works, is not surprising for the experienced model car collectors. But we are surprised-despite the expirience-to see what witty car fans and their labels put together: an elongated Porsche Panamera for example we did not expect. But the label GLM Great Lighting Models has taken just that for  a role model: The Porsche Panamera reputation RXL is going to be available under item number 214001 for 99.95 Euro in 1:43 scale and is the long-wheelbase version of the Porsche sedan perfect in appearance and processing.

Evidence of the existence of resine plastic

Only 450 units of this model cars are available. The miniature is something very extra ordinary for us; though it is not yet blessed with the facelift of the Panamera model it  is special for every showcase of Porsche collectors.  Also, it is another very good example of how small series  are made possible  by using the polyurethane casting  Resine that makes fewer demands on the mold and  therefore makes it all possible. This also  goes  for the second Porsche of the category, namely the Porsche 911 of the  Americans Troutman and Barnes from 1972 which Matrix is offering in a  limited edition of 408 units; available under item no MX41607-025 for 84,95 Euro.

Porsche 911 1972 as a four-door

The special feature of this model car: It shows an early Porsche 911 in an extended version with four doors! With opened doors on the driver's side and closed doors in the back. The model meets the proportions of the front and the rear of the known original 911 very good; the lengthened passenger compartment fits fantastic. It doesnt look like it doesn't belong, and raises the question why Porsche had to invent  Cayenne or Panamera for a four-door. Would  a normal 911 with an extended body and additional doors look so much worse? We are certain: No! We can even  imagine a Mercedes-AMG GT or SLS AMG in an  "expanded" version. The Aston Martin Rapide shows how sports cars can be extended stylishly.

Troutman Barnes has established a name as coachbuilders in the 1950s and 1960s; located in sunny California. Images for an example of the model presented here can be found at this link. http://www.carscoops.com/2009/06/porsche-four-door-sedans-of-past-or-how.htmlIncluding pictures of other designs and modifications  of the four-door Porsche. Until stretch 991  we enjoy the many details that especially the stunning interior of the four door car of 1972 by Matrix has to offer. We are very excited about these two Porsche model cars, and are pleased about the unexpected news and wish you an inspired  start into the week.
