The modelcar maker Herpa, from Dietenhofen Germany, has been known known  as a manufacturer of car and truck models in size of 1:87 for many years and established himself as a supplier for model railways for decades. Herpa has  repeatedly tried to take foot in the miniatures of size  1:43 Foot: With car models of Ferrari F40 made of plastic , Testarossa and 348 in the 1980s, as well as die-cast zinc for Mercedes S-Class W 140. Currently featuring  the VW Golf VII and the Audi A3 sedan and convertible, the VW Passat or the BMW M4 1:43. With the BMW X4 they continue the recent success story
 

A close look at the model of the BMW X4 .

The BMW X4 is following steps of the 2008 developed  BMW X6 and belongs to the category of crossover of a coupe and SUV. The new car is technically based on the BMW X3, but does not have its hatchback body, but a gently sloping hatchback. In the press release it sounds like this: "The X4 combines the typical characteristics of the successful BMW X family and the sporty elegance of a classic coupe. This unique concept of the Sports Activity Coupé now brings the BMW  X4,a premium middle class model..."  Herpa puts it on the market in  1:43;  item number 80422348789 in Melbourne Red Metallic and 80422348788 in Black Sapphire Metallic.

Herpa offers more than others

Herpa has the hang of not only proportions and appearance, and consistent lines, but also convincing details. We like the processing of the radiator grills, of the attached strap door handles, the  glazing of the seat, including the glass sunroof-and the way how Herpa has implemented the replicas of alloy wheels in the size 1:43. The interior leaves out no detail. Biggest Plus though is that, unlike with Minichamps models, the fans do not only get  an opening hood along with a precisely replicated motor for the prize of only 34.95, but also a full-featured, open tailgate.
