KÜS Team Bernhard with strong DTM designs

KÜS Team Bernhard with strong DTM designs

back to blog overview

Much more than just a vibrant look

Vibrantly colorful, but not just for looks. Dynamic, alluring, and above all symbolic: this is how the designs of the two Porsche 911 GT3 R, that KÜS Team Bernhard will be fielding in the 2023 DTM season, present themselves. At first glance, the two cars appear in completely different outfits, but a closer look reveals the connections between them.

The #24 nine-eleven driven by 25-year-old Istanbul driver Ayhancan Güven - including the #24 - features the winning design familiar from last year. With the red-and-blue racer, the team from Landstuhl in the German state of Palatinate famously clinched two race wins at the Norisring - Porsche's first ever triumph in the demanding series - and at the Red Bull Ring in its DTM debut year in 2022, as well as further podium finishes at Spa. This very special nine-eleven, which made motorsport history and was a hot title contender right up to the final weekend, has now become an exhibit in the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. "Can's" current racer of the latest design visually ties in with its predecessor with the red and blue team colors that have been in vogue since last year, dominated by the logos of the two main partners KÜS and Paul Tech AG.

The sister car of 21-year-old Laurin Heinrich from Kürnach bears the starting number 75, although 75 is much more than just a number. Coinciding with their tenth anniversary, KÜS Team Bernhard first refers to the jubilee "75 years of Porsche sports cars". In addition, the "75" is also a reminder of the roots of Team75 Motorsport: In 1975, Rüdiger Bernhard, father of Team Principal Timo Bernhard, undertook his first motorsport activities. With the anniversary design, Timo Bernhard, long-time works driver, two-time Le Mans overall winner, two-time World Endurance Champion, and Porsche brand ambassador, underscores the decades-long and very close partnership between his team and the premium brand from Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. The very special appearance of the "birthday car" is thus meaningful: Black and white quote the original design of the circuit racing cars from Team75, the anniversary logo "75 years of Porsche" - combined with the unique and colorful history of the dream cars from Zuffenhausen translated pictorially into many colors - is prominently represented on the bolide. The familiar logos are also to be found on the #75, supplemented by the new partner Veltins.

Ayhancan Güven: "I'm excited with our final design for the 2023 DTM season. These colors and the starting number 24 have already made history in the championship. I'm proud to wear the colors of KÜS Team Bernhard in the 2023 field."

Laurin Heinrich: "It's a very special honor for me to be competing for KÜS Team Bernhard in Porsche's anniversary year with the starting number 75 and the corresponding logo on the car. Now it's up to the team and me to live up to this special design with success on the track."

Team Principal Timo Bernhard: "The unveiling and announcement of the current designs for the season is always something special and beautiful for me. Then you see the results of the hard, months-long work that went into it, because design always has a meaning for me, too. In the 2023 DTM, we are showing two very expressive outfits. Firstly, on the #24, the familiar design from last season; it seamlessly follows on from the appearance of the car, which has now found its place in the Porsche Museum. It also already has a certain degree of familiarity as a result of this and last year's victories. On the #75 we are showing a fascinating mix of the Team75 original design from ten years ago and the theme of "75 years of Porsche sports cars." The slogan associated with the anniversary, "Driven by Dreams," after all, means the dreams you try to make come true. And the Porsche brand has always made me dream, has helped me so much on the way to realizing my dreams. That's why our design fits so well with "Driven by Dreams". Because it underscores the bond between me and my family and the Porsche brand. I think we have realized two very beautiful and expressive designs on our cars that bring color to the DTM field. I can't wait to see the two 911s on the track."
