The 39-year-old managed to win his class in his first international long-distance race. He shared the Porsche with young talent Daniel Gregor, among others.
"I still don't know what to say. The last days have been full of indescribable impressions," says Krombach. "I mean, this was my first 24-hour-race. Actually everything was new to me. We have prepared for the big race with test drives, practices and setup work over multiple days."
When the checkered flag fell, after 24 hours and over 508 completed laps, the sensation was perfect. After a flawless performance and without any technical problems, Krombach and his three teammates in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS made it to the finish first in the TCX class. "The top priority for us was to drive through - we managed that," summed up Krombach happily.
By the way, he not only takes great joy from Dubai, but also all kinds of tasks with him to Werdorf, Germany. "Because many fans are already waiting for the modelcars from the 24-hour race in Dubai," he explains. "We at ck-modelcars know this very well and do our best to ensure that the popular cars find their way into the showcases as quickly as possible."
A treat that fans can look forward to: The BMW M4 GT3, with which motorcycle legend Valentino Rossi competed in Dubai, will come as a modelcar. The special thing about it: The long-distance race in the desert was the Italian's first appearance for BMW. Until the end of 2022, the WRT-driver was on the road with Audi.
