With the Porsche 911 GT3 R with starting number one, piloted by Herberth-bedrock Robert Renauer together with the Austrian Porsche works-driver Thomas Preining, it was about to compete on seven race weekends with two races each. The racing car of Precote Herberth Motorsport presents itself in matt-black with red roof as well as futuristic red and white mosaic design elements.
In terms of driving, the season got off to a promising start with a top 10 finish and a victory of the season right on the opening weekend in Oschersleben. However, the two experienced pilots then had to deal with accidents and retirements. In the overall standings, Renauer and Preining finished 13th after the finale at the Sachsenring.
In the following year, winning the title again in the ADAC GT Masters was the declared goal. In 2020 Herberth Motorsport went to the start with two Porsche GT3 R. Robert Renauer's car, this time with starting number 99, kept the design from the previous year. The sister car with starting number seven, in which Sebastian Asch and Alfred Renauer sat behind the wheel, differed in terms of design due to its consistently black dress under the differently arranged red and white mosaic elements as well as different advertising on the doors and wings.
Robert Renauer competed the first five race weekends together with team-mate Sven Müller before first Klaus Bachler and then Renauer's 2018 champion Mathieu Jaminet took over the wheel of the number 99 for the final races. Despite a win of the season at the Nürburgring and several silver places at the Sachsenring, the Red Bull Ring and the Lausitzring and third place at Oschersleben, it wasn't enough for the title in the end. In the overall standings, Renauer finished second, just ten points behind Michael Ammermüller and Christian Engelhart from SSR Performance as runners-up.
After a few breakdowns in the number seven sister car, Sebastian Asch and Renauer’s twin brother Alfred secured a very good third place in Oschersleben and ultimately 21st place overall. For Precote Herberth Motorsport, this meant second place in the team classification and thus the runner-up title in the ADAC GT Masters 2020.
