But the 32nd version of the reader's choice goes one better: The young brand WERK83 has been awarded for the first time.
"Can someone please pinch me? This is an absolute honor for us,” says Christoph Krombach. “We won in several categories, which is anything but a matter of course. I am particularly pleased about the awards for WERK83 and the joint label CMR. With this choice, the collectors decide, so of course the result makes us all the more proud. I would like to thank everyone who voted for our models.”
One of the most successful ones among the small vehicles was the Ford Capri, which WERK83 brought onto the market in scale 1:18. Just like Klaus Ludwig in the German Racing Championship in 1982, WERK83 “drove” into two victories with the Jägermeister car: on the one hand in the Classic 1:18 category, on the other hand in the “Supermodel of the Year” election. This is the supreme discipline in the scene.
For the 32nd time, readers voted for their favorite model vehicles and proved once again that the 24-hour race in Le Mans is still one of the most popular topics. This is probably one of the reasons why CMR's Porsche 956 received the most votes in the "Different Scales" category. The vehicle, driven by Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell, was a model in scale 1:12 based on the original down to the smallest detail.
But CMR not only scored "on the long haul", but also with a model of Walter Röhrl's Audi Sport quattro S1 E2. In 1987, the rally legend took part in the hp-monster in Colorado, where it won the famous mountain race. There were further awards for the Ford GT in scale 1:43 produced by Ixo (current large series category) and a Porsche 911 GT3 R from the 2018 season (current 1:18 category). For test purposes, the Falken team started with a special camouflage look.
Another special feature: If you want to call one of the winning models your own, you should take a look at the ck-modelcars shop. All vehicle models are in stock and can be delivered immediately.
