The story of the Porsche 935 begins in the years 1976-1981. On the base of the Porsche 930, Porsche then produced the Group 5 race car and wins the brand world championship four years in a row from 1976-1979 with it. With further victories in 1979 at the 24-Hour race in Le Mans and victories in the IMSA GT series, the Porsche 935 is one of the most successful near-series racing cars. Minichamps is now presenting the new edition of the 935 from 2019 based on the GT2 RS in scale 1:43. The models are delivered in a Porsche factory packaging and are limited. While the white Spectrum Edition of the 935/19 is limited to 2020 pieces, the versions "Champion", "Jägermeister" and the blue-red vehicle from Team Herberth Motorsport are limited to 1,500 pieces each. The all-black vehicle of the Grasser Racing Team, which was piloted by Mark Ineichen at the 2019 Porsche Supersportscar Weekend in Spa, is the most exclusive 935/19 model in our shop, limited to just 336 pieces.
The Porsche 935 is a true racing legend with innumerable successes. Thus, many racing fans should have been pleased when it became known that Porsche is relaunching the 935, this time on the base of the GT2 RS. The sports car, limited to only 77 units, with 700 hp costs 700,000€ plus taxes. The cockpit is reminiscent of the early times of the 935 with its analog timepiece and the indicator for boost pressure of the turbocharger. Just like in the GT2 RS Clubsport, the 935/19 also has water injection on the intercooler, which increases performance by reducing the intake air temperature. In addition to fuel consumption, the 935/19 also uses a good 20 liters of water per hour if you drive it accordingly on a racetrack. As early as 1978, the 935 was named Moby Dick after the novel of the same name by Herman Melville because of its immense dimensions and its mostly white paintwork. The 935 from 2019 is in no way inferior to these attributes with a length of 4.87 meters. The 935/19 is powered by a 700 hp 3.8 liter boxer biturbo engine. Many parts of the 935/19 tell of the successful motorsport history of Porsche. The aerodynamically clad rims are reminiscent of that Moby Dick, the Porsche 935/78. The LED taillights in the end plates are based on the 919 Hybrid and the exterior mirrors come from the current Porsche RSR. The titanium exhaust tailpipes are based on the Porsche 908 from 1968. The Porsche 935/19 manages the balancing act of the past and still offers all the advantages of the modern age.
