Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher, who gave their name to the sports car manufacturer AMG with their two last names in combination with the name of the original company headquarters (Großaspach). Already in 1967, these were the men who had the vision of converting Mercedes vehicles so that they could be used in racing. 39 years later, based on an SLK 55 AMG, the first model with the addition of the “Black Series” came onto the market. To this day, this addition stands for maximum performance and characteristics in terms of driving dynamics. When it comes to the models of the dark series, AMG speaks of the performance endpoints of the respective model series.
The AMG GT is now the sixth models, which is allowed to wear the additional designation "Black Series". If you look at the performance data of the super sports car, it almost takes your breath away. Thanks to its 730 hp, the most powerful AMG V8 series engine of all time accelerates from 0 to 100 in 3.2 seconds. The 800Nm torque presses the driver tremendously into the seat. Despite its lightweight construction, the AMG GT is kept on the ground by sophisitcated aero measures and the anything but discreet, mechanically adjustable, double carbon rear wing. The 3-stage adjustable AMG Ride Control coilover kit helps to adapt the AMG GT to the driver and the track in all situations. All in all, AMG has created a driving dynamics monster that is second to none. It is not for nothing that the name speaks for the dark side of power.
