The brand Almost Real owes its successful debut to the miniatures of the Land Rover models to the Camel Trophy, which come to the collector with great attention to detail and first class craftsmanship. Almost Real has remained loyal to the manufacturer of the prototypes and is now introducing limited modelcars for the new Land Rover Defender year 2020, which will be built in the versions 90 and 110. They are also produced from diecast and presented here in three colors: Land Rover Defender 110 in the color tasman blue under item number ALM810802 and limited to 1,000 pieces, in white paint (ALM810807) 504-fold and as Land Rover Defender 90 in pangea green under the designation ALM810704; each weighing around 1,320 grams. The first two four-door 110 are delivered with a roof rack; the shorter two-door 90 with roof rails.
And this leads us to the point of equipment: the modelcars to the model series L663 have each two or four openable doors, a functional tailgate as well as an openable engine hood. A wide range of four, six and eight-cylinder engines are under it at the role models; one can choose between Diesel as well as gasoline and a hybrid version. It starts with 147 kW / 200hp (2.0 liter / 3.0 liter Diesel); at the top is the 5.0 liter V8 with 386 kW / 525 hp. An eight-speed automatic from supplier ZF and the all-wheel drive, which is mandatory for the brand, are standard equipment. Depending on the engine, a top speed of 175 or 240 kilometers per hour is achieved. Running boards, roof racks and the externally mounted spare wheel support the appearance in terms of reminding of the legendary original Defender.
But in contrast to this, the model by Almost Real, which has grown by 40 centimeters in length and 20 centimeters in width compared to its predecessor, will probably not be on the move in the jungle or similar unpaved roads. With the elegance displayed by the vehicle built in Nitra, Slovakia, the new Defender is more likely to be seen on Kurfürstendamm, Königsallee or Maximilianstrasse, the boulevards (in Germany) in fact. The appearance of the models also corresponds to these: Absolutely harmonious appearance and lines, excellent workmanship, especially in the area of fitting attachments such as headlights and glazing, minimal gaps, first-class paintwork and perfectly worked out details on the front grille, in the interior on the dashboard and seat construction as well as in, of course the replica of the engine. Really excellent work, compliments!
