Actually, this article belongs to the category Throwback Thursday, because with the modelcars of the Chevrolet Camaro Trans Am 1967 we look back about 50 years; into a time, in which the car world has not been marked by discussions about CO2-burden and environmetal protection. The US-label GMP presented with the limited to 168 pieces modelcar of the Chevrolet Trans Am Camaro under the item number 18909-B / 18901 again a real piece of custom work, because the miniatures of diecast shine with a robust processing, openable doors and hoods and thus with a lot of attractive details. However, this description also applies to the models of the Ford Mustang Boss 302 from 1969, with which the racing driver Jim Richards started in the Trans Am series and which GMP presented under the item number A1801829 exactly 954 times in the scale 1:18.

Let's start with the blue and yellow Chevrolet Camaro Trans Am from 1967, which corresponds to the first model year of the so-called Ponycars - the small coupes with big engines that were the dream cars of all young and young at heart Americans - from Chevrolet: The Camaro came in response to the already successfully sold Ford Mustang and was delivered with inline six-cylinder and V8 engines. The role model for our modelcar is the top version Z / 28, from which 609 units left the factory bands in 1967. The optional package Z / 28 is a special performance package for reasons of the regulations of the "Club of America Trans Am" reduced to 4.9 liters displacement 5.0 liter-V8 with 216 kW / 290 hp, disc brakes at the front , sport suspension and a four-speed manual transmission from the brand Muncie.

Anyone from the collectors who wonders that the only available as coupe Z / 28 in the format 1:18 carries no emblems, which can be said that this is correct: In the model year 1967 Chevrolet has waived such markings. In this respect, the miniatures perfectly reproduce the role models of that time. At GMP, the harmonious proportions of the models and the replicas of the engines are a lot of fun. Cables and wires are included. These sting especially in the modelcar of the Ford Mustang Boss 302 in the eye, although need to do without an openable trunk, but it has a particularly lavishly equipped engine compartment. The steerable front wheels and the faithful interior are of course obligatory with the high quality models from GMP. More pictures and information about this link.
