22.08.20191984 - The modelcars to the Chevrolet Corvette C4 in 1:18

What fits better with this blog on Throwback Thursday, to look back at the past? Under the same hashtag celebrates the network - primarily Twitter and Instagram - well the events, on which the user especially like to remember. If that also applies for 1984? Exactly in this year, the German private television had celebrated its debut: On January 1st PKS started its broadcast from Ludwigshafen, who attracted viewers to the screen from the following year with the SAT.1 logo in the living room; RTL broadcasted its television from January 2nd from Luxembourg. The fans of the modelcars will rather remember the 1984 Chevrolet Corvette, which represents the design language with its clear lines of this time and to which Greenlight has presented a really outstanding miniature, which corresponds to the model series C4 under item number 13534.

They come in silver painting to the collector. What we notice at first sight, is the quality: The line management of the miniatures are matching perfectly the appearance of the role model created by designer Jerry Palmer and is not disturbed by excessively rough columns to the functional parts. The Corvette C4 in scale 1:18 owns openable doors. The collector can view the interior not only through the lateral accesses, but also through the removable roof! The largest glass dome at this time as trunk cover remains closed. The front hinged bonnet is an innovation in the Corvette: It is referred to as a Clamshell Hood, which extends with the fenders to the side circumferential trim. This makes it very repair-friendly to unfold the full front.

At the role model as well as at the model from Greenlight, the openable hood will release the whole engine compartment, in which originally, so the model year 1984, 143 kW / 194 hp waited for their assignment. We also really like the reproduction of the aluminum rims at the modelcars. From the 358.180 built Corvette C4's in the period from March 1983 till the end of 1996, 74.651 were convertibles. As successful as these sports cars were in sales, their successors from today's production are convincing thanks to greater processing quality, performance and, above all, safety.
