AMG, quattro GmbH, Brabus, AC Schnitzer or Abt - who does not know them, the sonorous names of those companies, which are thriving on the market with tuning cars and setting new trends in terms of technology and performance. Or RWB / Rauh Welt Begriff; the label, which creates individual vehicles out of Porsche 911's of the model series 993. But does anyone know Dagonet? New modelcars from Norev remind and on Throwback Thursday to a time, where even cars like the Citroën 2CV went through tuner hands. The miniatures come to the collector, as usual out of diecast, and are available with red painting as a standart version under item number 151395 as well as in white rally-design under 151396. The little limousine had competed in this look at the Rally Charentes in 1956. Let's take a look on role model and model.

Whenever we write at this point that the miniatures correspond exactly to their model and perfectly match their proportions, we know the original from our own point of view. In case of the Citroën 2CV Dagonet 1956 we have to say that we have to orient ourselves on photos in order to be able to carry out this point of the check with a clear conscience. Vehicles of this type are rarely found in Germany; in France it is eventually different. In the local Faverolles-et-Coëmy, a small French community with less than 1,000 inhabitants in the Marne department in the Grand Est region, Jean Dagonet founded his Jean Dagonet studios in 1950. As a car manufacturer, he focused on the modification of the Citroën 2CV. Could Dagonet be described as the inventor of the Mercedes-Benz CLS?

The difference to the normal 2CV

Surely not, but his concept was similar: He rebuilt the body of 2CV's like this by lowering them about 18 cm. The characteristic roll roof fell away; a solid roof went over in flowing form in the trunk lid and the rear. The frame of the rear door had been drastically reduced or the same completely closed. The fenders were formed completely new and so included the otherwise freestanding headlights: A duck never looked so much as a real car. 1958 ended the production of the studio Jean Dagonet; the well-made modelcars from Norev are reminiscent of this ingenious body-cutters.
