CMR and Spark: Interesting news to Audi and Porsche

back to blog overview

The fans of modelcars can be remembered by three successful miniatures in scale 1:43 to outstanding achievements in motorsport

Inexpensive models out of diecast, produced with much love to detail - that is CMR. Known for its sophisticating miniatures to the topic Ferrari in scale 1:18, CMR as a small series label proves for a long time that good modelcars, after their role models from the motorsport, don't have to be expensive and presents with the Audi quattro Sport E2 of the team Audi Sport a successfull  model in scale 1:43. It replicates the racing car of the fourth-placed Rallye Monte Carlo in 1986. The Germans Walter Röhrl and Christian Geistdörfer had started at the 54th version of the race on January 18th in the FIA-Rallye-Worldcup and completed 36 evaluation tests on the 881,10 kilometers long distance. 165 cars competed against each other; only 65 reached the finish. The Lancia Delta S4 with Henri Toivonen and Sergio Cresto crossed the finish line as the winner.

Röhrl and Geistdörfer had to get through the notorious winding stage over the Col de Turini, the so-called night of long knifes, which was the climax of the Rallye Monte Carlo and applies for the fans as the highlight of the overall Rallye-World Cup-Season. The participation of it requires a real armament of headlights: CMR reproduced this very well at the models with the item number WRC003B and attaches the decals of the involved cigarette manufacturer. Qualitatively no less good are the models, whose role models are linked by a story, but between those are 35 years. CMR minimizes the exact sports car of the Porsche 956 to scale 1:43 with the item number SBC004, with which Stefan Bellof had set a record at the final training of the 1000 kilometer race to the sports car world cup at the Nürburgring in 1982.

With 6:11:13 minutes, he drove 20.835 kilometers on the Nordschleife with an average speed of 202 kilometers per hour; a record, which had existed over 35 years. Until the Porsche-factory driver and two times endurance worldchampion Timo Bernhard tried to beat this record with a Porsche 919 hybrid Evo 2018 free from any restrictions of the regulations. With success: in 5:19.946 minutes he mastered the track, which once drove Bellof. The matching car to this comes from Spark and Porsche (WAP0209260K) in 1:43 as well in the decoration of the Tribute Tour 2018, in which the car says goodbye to the fans. Three cars with which CMR and Spark pay tribute to outstanding events in motorsport in a unique and brilliant way.
