That was pretty fast: As soon as we were able to photograph the modelcars of the Ferrari 488 pista as prototypes at this year's Toy Fair in Nuremberg, the final modelcars in scale 1:18 were delivered to the trade: BBR models has reduced the supercar from Italy in an immaculate finish. As expected from the small series label, the lines and the design were transferred exactly to the model; the appearance of the miniature, painted in rosso corsa, in this case coincides exactly with the model. The Ferrari 488 pista is a performance version of the sports car first introduced about four years ago, which celebrated its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show 2018. It is the most powerful version of the series and is powered by a 3.9 liter V8 that delivers 530 kW / 720 hp.
The model, made ou of high-quality polyurethane casting resin, gives a glimpse through the rear window of how impressive the performance of the Ferrari 488 pista is: the maximum torque of 770 Newton-meters (Nm) at 3,300 rpm. The acceleration from zero to 100 kilometers per hour is given with 2.85 seconds; the 488 pista achieves 200 in 7.6 seconds. The top speed is over 340. The seven-speed automatic transmission transmits the immense power of the 32-valve engine with its two turbochargers on the rear wheels. Recently, the Ferrari 488 pista won a nomination in the competition for the "Sportive de l'année" of the leading French car magazine MotorSport and outclassed eleven other sports cars to be two seconds faster on the 4.4-kilometer-long circuit of Magny Cours.

And also the model looks fast: The miniature, available under item number P18145A, transfers the dymanic of the 488 pista directly into the collectors' display cases. The modelcars are limited in this version to a quantity of 488 units and convince with a look at the details: We are fascinated by the accurate design of the front bumper, as well as the perfect replicas of alloy wheels and braking technology. The elaborate diffuser at the rear and the integrated exhaust covers also give a correct impression of the technical refinements of the sports car, such as the details of the interior.
