Novelties at the beginning of the year. Porsche brings new models from the Porsche Driver's Selection

Novelties at the beginning of the year. Porsche brings new models from the Porsche Driver's Selection

back to blog overview

Porsche GT3 Cup (992) in scale 1:43 and 1:18

In addition to many well known labels in the world of modelcars, the car manufacturer Porsche also brings models onto the market. This is also the case again at the start of 2022. One of the models from the Porsche Driver's Selection collection is the Porsche GT3 Cup (992). The model appears as a limited edition in different scales and color combinations. The model in scale 1:43, item number WAP0209920NGT3, comes in the color combination GT Silver/shark blue metallic and is limited to 2,000 pieces. If you want it to be a little larger, you can of course also use the scale 1:18. The model, which is limited to 911 pieces, is released under item number WAP0219920NGT3, also in the color combination GT Silver/shark blue metallic. The GT3 Cup is available in the color combination GT-Silver/red and is limited to 300 pieces under item number WAP0211500NGTC. All three models are made of high-quality resin.

With over 4250 sold pieces since 1990, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is the best selling race car of the world. The model based on the 911 model series 992 is already the seventh version in a story that is committed to success. Porsche's goal is to break the 5000-unit sales mark with the 992 of the 911 GT3 Cup. The progress compared to the predecessor 991 is great. In addition to the now 510 hp engine, the fully digital cockpit and the eye-catching rear spoiler with gooseneck suspension, the aerodynamics have also been adapted for higher cornering speeds. At Porsche, all of this happens in close cooperation with the customer teams that use the vehicle in the races. In order to be aware of the responsibility of an ecological footprint in motorsport as well, the new 911 GT3 Cup is designed to run on synthetic fuels. The 911 GT3 Cup will be used from the 2021 season in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and the national Porsche Carrera Cups in Germany, France, Asia and Benelux and for the first time in North America. The 911 GT3 Cup (992) developed in Weissach by Porsche's motorsport department delivers 375KW (510hp) on the rear axle. The 4.5m long racing car weighs 1260kg and has a 4.0 liter engine. It surpasses its predecessor by 25 hp.
