This highly detailed 1:43 scale model depicts the legendary Honda RA302, driven by Jo Schlesser at the 1968 French Grand Prix – one of the most emotional chapters in Formula 1 history.
The RA302 was a radical concept: ultra-light thanks to a magnesium body, but also notorious for its instability. Jo Schlesser, an experienced French racing driver, was handed the wheel of this experimental car at his home race in Rouen-les-Essarts. Tragedy struck as early as the second lap – the car lost control, crashed into an embankment, and burst into flames. Schlesser lost his life in the accident. It was his first and only Formula 1 race.
