The FIA seem quite exhilarated on their Twitter account, because in 36 days, the new season of the World Endurance Championship starts. In the class S 3.0, started the a Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1956, to which Tecnomodel has delivered a beautiful model car: The Ferrari 625LM Spyder Touring appears in 1:18 scale in the decoration of the car from Olivier Gendebien and Maurice Trintignant, who received third place in the overall standings. The Scuderia Ferrari has only built three models of the type 625LM. Tecnomodel, however, has 120 pieces in this variant. Exactly the right car to look back on, on the Throwback Thursday. The day when the internet world looks back on good times with the hashtag of the same name.

But what exactly are we looking back on, because the high-quality resin model cars are in the present and not the past. First of all, they convince by an incredibly good surface finish. The processing of the polyurethane casting resin is the absolute awesome! Mega! It is almost unnecessary to mention that the proportions and thus the appearance are correct. This also applies to the doors and hood, which unfortunately remain closed as usual in this segment. But due to the open design of the Spyder it is of course no problem to take a look in the cockpit. Although this model is sparsely equipped, it shines with beautiful fittings, a chrome-plated gear lever scenery and a striking wooden steering wheel.

The rims magically attract glances

The replicas of the alloy wheels are a magnet for the eyes: to have something this beautiful in the showcase should be the dream of every collector. The finely braced radiator grille is also an eye-catcher. Bodybuilder Touring built the three cars for the Scuderia Ferrari based on the 500TR and built a four-cylinder in-line engine with 2.5 liters and 165 kW / 225 hp. Of the three vehicles used in the 24th 24-hour race, only the prototype of our model came to the finish line: seven laps behind the victorious Jaguar D-Type, which completed 300 laps. It is known that the three cars were retrofitted and sold to the engine of the 500TR after the race attended by 250,000 spectators. The model with the article number TM18-54B is one of four variations. There is also one from the race in Nassau and a press version of the 625LM.
