The fans of historic racing cars marked the weekend from 11th to 13th August bold in thier calendars: The 45th AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix attracts all fans of old cars from road and racing to the Nürburgring. Over 20 races, presentations and uniformity tests await the audience. The stars from the DTM of the 1980s entered their cars; Legendary vehicles from the DRM and the Rallyesport can also be seen. Porsche Classic celebrates the 40th birthday of the 928 with a great commitment on a 16,000 square meter area in the immediate vicinity of the race track. The focus is the 928, which was presented to the public in the spring of 1977 and a year later became the first sports car to be awarded the title "Car of the Year". An elegant 2 + 2-seater coupe was created in the most modern lightweight construction. "The interest in the 928 is growing rapidly among our customers," says Alexander Fabig, Head of Porsche Classic. "At the Nürburgring, we will revive its diversity and showcase some of our expertise". In addition to the restored 928 from the first generation in the standard original condition, Porsche Classic presents the body shell of a very early Porsche 911 Turbo from 1975, which has been reconstructed according to original specifications.

Insights and autograph hours

The final result of a complete restoration is documented by a Porsche 911 S from 1966 - the first of its kind with the legendary Fuchs rims, the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer.
