We do not find it so great in the editorial department that three important events from motorsport take place on the same weekend. No one knows where to look first because the 24 hours at Le Mans 2017 will be held, the Eifel race at Nürburgring and the DTM weekend in Budapest. Three really high-caliber events to which we would like to be able to be everywhere at the same time. Does this concentration really have to be on a month and on a weekend? Is that not be done differently? As far as modeling is concerned, we have at least received a highly current miniature, namely the Porsche 919 hybrid Promo model 2017, which Spark delivered in the past days. In the 1:43 scale, the workmanship of this year's Le Mans makes for a touch of contemporary Le Mans feel in the showcases.
Porsche with lead in model building
The historic race on the Sarthe goes to the 85th edition. Porsche and Spark have put on a beautiful model, which can order the collectors under the item number WAP0209190J and carries the starting number 1. A limitation for this model of coming miniatures following the model of the Porsche 919 2017 was not disclosed. However, the fact that Porsche offers something to Le Mans at all makes model and model cars an advantage over the DTM, which does not yet lead cars to 2017. Regarding the Eifelrennen there are of course a lot of fitting models, because the event next weekend celebrates the 90th birthday of the race circuit around the Nürburg.
Emperor Wilhelm II was already thinking of setting up a circuit in the Eifel, because the enthusiasts in Belgium, the USA and Italy were enthusiastic about the masses. An interest, however, quickly flattened and only rose again after the First World War. On a course of 33 kilometers at Nideggen, the Allgemeine Deutsche Automobilclub organized the first Eifel race on 15 July 1922: 134 riders from four touring cars and five motorcycle classes met 40,000 spectators. Two years later, during the second edition of the Eifel race, ideas were set in motion that led to the construction of the Nürburgring's north and south loop. The Nordschleife survived to this day and, like the new Grand Prix circuit, is the venue of the Eifelrennen 2017, which is part of the Nürburgring Classic in the period from 16 to 18 June and is organized by the DAMC 05.
Stefan Bellof wrote ring history
Just enough to remember the man who has driven the fastest time on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring with his Porsche 956 K / Chassis 007: Stefan Bellof. The Giessener was to conquer the Nürburgring - as a green hell by Jackie Stewart - like no other racing driver before him. He wrote an essential chapter of the Nordschleife: He rounded her up in the final training course of the 1000 kilometer race to the FIA ??World Sports Championship 1983 in a fabulous time of 6: 11.13 minutes. This time, after more than three decades, still provides for stunned head shaking. And with this achievement, the name Stefan Bellof merges with the legend Nurburgring in a way that it can not be more unique.
The race weekend on television
As a matter of course, the fans' awareness of the weekend's anniversary is evident. The new Stefan-Bellof-Collection has therefore been successful: the poloshirts and caps "6: 11,13" have been successfully introduced to the legendary round-trip, successfully introduced as part of the Grand Prix of Monaco and the 24-hour race of the Nürburgring 2017. We are happy - even if we are a bit annoyed, because three such great motorsport events are carried out simultaneously - on a wonderful weekend: The DTM in Budapest will be broadcast on the ARD from 15:00 on Sunday afternoon, the Eifelrennen is on Youtube And Le Mans has his home on Eurosport.
