In 2024, Christoph Krombach's company and its models will once again be up for awards in five categories. But that's not all. The popular tuner Sidney Hoffmann, with whom ck-modelcars created a model of his RWB wide-body Porsche, has been nominated for the Innovation Award.
The fact that the exclusive RWB wide-body of the Porsche 993 is a matter close to Sidney Hoffmann's heart is not only shown by the extremely lovingly and high-quality designed original. The tuner was also immediately enthusiastic about the variant in scale 1:18 created together with ck-modelcars and the label WERK83. The cooperation did not end with the market launch of the model. On ck TV, the video format of ck-modelcars, Hoffmann told interesting background information about the striking exotic car. He also made the RWB Porsche available as an eye-catcher on the stand for ck-modelcars' appearance at the Essen Motor Show and took plenty of time for photo and autograph requests during personal visits.
The initiators of the readers' vote for "Model Car of the Year" were also not unnoticed by this level of commitment, which is why Sidney Hoffmann was nominated for the Category V Innovation Award. In addition, the WERK83 model of the RWB Porsche is nominated in the category K current 1:18.
There are also four other categories in which ck-modelcars can hope to win an award with its range. There are two vehicles to choose from, the originals of which were driven by rally legend Walter Röhrl. In both cases, these are not products from Zuffenhausen. Instead, the Audi 90 IMSA GTO from 1989, reproduced by WERK83, is nominated in the category J Classic 1:18. Then there is the Opel Kadett C Coupé from the Safari Rally in Kenya in 1976. The car, manufactured by CMR, is listed in the category D Classic 1:43.
The other potential winners, however, are Porsche replicas. Minichamps is offering a model of the Porsche 911 GT3 R exclusively at ck-modelcars, with which Thomas Preining won the brand's first DTM victory at the Norisring in 2022. The car, limited to 222 units, can be voted in the category E current 1:43.
WERK83 is also offering a treat for Le Mans fans in the category M Various Scales. The Porsche 911 GT1, which won the famous 24-hour race in 1998, is a sought-after newcomer in 1:12.
