The Ferrari 330 P3, designed by Piero Drogo, was an absolute racing icon in the late 1960s and still is today.

A 12-cylinder engine with 420 Italian horses, a tubular steel frame with fiberglass elements, independent wheel suspensions on both axles with wishbones of different lengths, a perfected aerodynamic chassis shape and a top speed of 310 kilometers per hour - that was Ferrari's answer to the problem at the end of the 1960s almost overpowering Ford GT40.

The Ferrari 330 P3, designed by Piero Drogo, made its debut at the 12 Hours Sebring in 1966. However, drivers Mike Parkes and Bob Bondurant were unable to defend second place from qualifying. They retired early due to gearbox damage. In the second outing of the 330 P3, Mike Parkes and John Surtees were able to score a victory in the 1000 km race in Monza and the 330 P3 also took part in the 1000 km race in Spa-Francorchamps, once again driven by the two successful Brits as the winning vehicle in front of the podium.

Despite the successful outings against the competition from Ford, Ferrari had no chance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966. The two works cars were canceled due to an accident and engine failure. The 330 P3 Spider with starting number 27, which was specially converted for the North American Racing Team, failed due to gearbox damage. Pedro Rodríguez and Richie Ginther took the steering wheel of the unique Spider, which was made from chassis 0846.

A year later, Ferrari celebrated a brilliant racing comeback at the 24 Hours of Daytona. With a legendary triple victory in the first stage of the Sports Car World Championship, the Italians triumphed and relegated the competition from Porsche and Ford to the bottom places.

Lorenzo Bandini and Chris Amon found themselves at the wheel of the 330 with starting number 23 - followed by the sister car with Mike Parkes and Ludovico Scarifiotti and the North American Racing Team in third place in the Ferrari 412P. Here Pedro Rodríguez and Jean Guichet took the wheel.

WERK83 offers the unique Ferrari 330 P3 Spider of the North American Racing Team from Le Mans as well as in the plain body version in scale 1:18. The winning vehicle from Daytona 1967 is also available as a modelcar in 1:18.
