In its test, the magazine Auto, Motor, Sport presented the Porsche 911 (930), which is considered a revision of the G-model, had a beautiful cockpit and an unmistakable engine sound that was a pleasure for the ears. These attributes can still be attributed with a clear conscience to the 930, one of the most popular classic Porsche models. The label Minichamps has limited the top model 911 (930) Turbo and released it exclusively for ck-modelcars. The models in scale 1:43 are available in three different versions, each of which is limited to 500 copies and reflects the label's usual high quality. The two monochrome models are painted in red and silver metallic. If you prefer a sportier look, you can choose the white paintwork in the Martini design.
The G-model of the 911 (built between 1973 and 1989) is the first major visual facelift of the 911. The so-called original model was sent into well-deserved retirement and replaced by the G-model. When the Porsche 911 (930) came onto the market in the early 1970s, the time was marked by the desire for more safety, comfort and environmental friendliness. For example, the bumper of the 911, which seemed very strong for the time, had to withstand an impact of up to 8 kph without being permanently deformed. Headrests found their way into the 911, as did seat belts with automatic retractors. The front turn signal lights were moved from the fender to the bumper and at the rear there was a continuous red reflector strip with the inscription “Porsche” between the taillights. Since a total of almost 76,000 models rolled off the assembly line during the production period (almost half as coupés, a quarter as convertibles and a quarter as Targas), the Porsche 930 is still good today and can be bought at affordable prices if you don't necessarily have the version with it want to call the charming addition “Turbo” their own. Thanks to the many further developments compared to its predecessor, the 911 (930) is a classic that is suitable for everyday use and still offers a lot of driving fun even today. Although the engine is still basically the original design of the first 911, Porsche was able to build a very durable and reliable unit through many detailed improvements.
When it was introduced, the Porsche 930 was the fastest mass-produced sports car in Germany. This is not the case for nothing. Porsche originally planned a Group 4 car for the World Sports Car Championship. The idea was to send a lightweight version of a Porsche 911 into the race. However, after the FIA changed the regulations and increased the minimum weight of permitted vehicles, Porsche stopped development. Porsche used the knowledge gained from this to develop the 930. The aim was to stand up to its competitors from Lamborghini and Ferrari. The Porsche 930 was Porsche's top model when it was released.
