Collectors can look forward to several 1:18 versions of the legendary racing car from 1996.
"The fascination around Porsche and Le Mans is something very special and also plays a significant role in the product selection of WERK83," reveals ck-modelcars founder Christoph Krombach. “With our brand we want to give all enthusiasts the opportunity to expand and complete their collections. Or to put it better: Everyone gets the opportunity to create their own little Porsche museum at home.”
The Porsche 911 GT1 takes an important chapter in history. In 1996, the car manufacturer from Stuttgart released the first of three versions of the spectacular racing car - with the aim of taking overall victory at Le Mans. The plan didn't succeed right away, but the Porsche 911 GT1 96 proved that it has what it takes to make it onto the podium.
Hans-Joachim Stuck, Thierry Boutsen and Bob Wollek in the number 25 car finished second. Their teammates Karl Wendlinger, Yannick Dalmas and Scott Goodyear saw the finish line in third place in the sister car. Reinhold Joest's team, of all people, secured victory in this race, using a private Porsche prototype.
The 911 GT1 also marked Porsche's factory return to Le Mans since 1988. However, the events were not exclusively concentrated on the 24-hour race at the Sarthe. The then BPR Global GT Series, which became the FIA GT World Championship the following year, was an important field of activity for the vehicle.
In addition to the modelcars in the factory look, collectors can look forward to other designs. For example the Marlboro look, a test design or a street version.
