03.03.2023Record breaking: Porsche 911 (991.2) GT2 RS MR from Minichamps

Record laps on the legendary Nürburgring-Nordschleife are very popular. 

Porsche made headlines in October 2018. In cooperation with Manthey Racing and Nordschleife expert Lars Kern at the wheel, the Zuffenhausen-based company set a new record for road-legal vehicles in the "Green Hell". The time was 6:40.3 minutes, the car was a Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR.

“Together with Porsche Motorsport, we brought all of our skills to bear for this record. Making the 911 GT2 RS even faster is already difficult enough. The fact that we have now also achieved this record makes us super proud,” said Manthey Managing Director Nicolas Raeder after the record run.

Numerous components from racing can be found in the 911 with Manthey-kit. Components that also Minichamps considered when developing the matching modelcar series. Thus the miniature versions in scale 1:18 have the special aerodynamic parts among other things. 

Minichamps brought the matching model to the record vehicle in a limited edition to the market. 300 pieces of the red nine-eleven are available, with which Lars Kern raced the 20.6 kilometer long track. Further color versions were brought onto the market with 200 pieces each. Another special feature here: Each model is in a high-quality collector's folding box and is numbered.
