In scale 1:18, from diecast and from the perspective of the team of ck-modelcars.de in yellow green comes a nine-eleven that wants to be a Turbo at the rear

At first glance, it looks like a Porsche 911 Turbo. But at a closer look it is a Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 from 1984, which the mold makers from Solido park in the showcases of their collectors under the item number combination S1802603 / 421187500 in the color 137, so yellow green. The miniatures from the French Josselin stand out due to the rear spoiler of the Porsche 930, but it is correct that this was combined with the narrow body of the so-called G-model. Solido has apparently selected a part of the optional equipment M491 available with the market launch of the Carrera 3.2 in 1984, behind which the factory turbo look that of course requires a surcharge, is hidden; called WTL for short. With the help of this article, we want to remind you of what distinguishes this from the production version.

The body of teh basis-Carrera 3.2 received numerous borrowings from the Porsche 911 Turbo of the series 930 with the factory Turbo look. The M491 package included the firmer suspension, the rims and the breaking system from the Turbo. However, it seems like Solido has just concentrated on the spoiler, because the fenders were not widened on these miniatures. Nevertheless: This additional equipment has found many followers among the fans. Otherwise, the modelcars reproduce a proper bellow-Porsche, which displaced the Ur-nine-eleven / original nine-eleven up from 1973. Primarily because of a regulation from the USA. This said that all newly registered cars there have to withstand a collision of up to eight kilometers per hour after a transitional period without any remaining damage. Integrated impact absorbers - externally recognizable by the bellows - made this possible.

And this without any changes at the classic and popular design. The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 1984 had also new things to offer under the engine hood: A year earlier, the emission standards were tightened in Europe, the USA and Japan. The newly introduced six-cylinder boxer-engine of the type 930/20 thus had over 3,164 cubic centimeters of displacement and developed 170 kW / 231 hp. With the catalytic converter, the performance of the drive set, which consists of over 80 percent new parts, was reduced. Solido, however, dispenses with an opening bonnet, but these price-conscious modelcars offer a wonderful opportunity to put the favorite among Germany's sports cars in a new version in your home showcase. True to the motto of a contemporary advertisement: "Nobody needs him, everyone wants‘ him". The editorial team agrees: Even in a scale of 1:18!
