Motorsport is great cinema - usually! But sometimes, motorsport meets cinema and this was the case with the staged feature film "Ford v Ferrari" in 2019 by director James Mangold. Its automobile main characters are already available as modelcars: Well known from Shelby Collectibles in scale 1:18 for example as well as from CMR in format 1:43. As the popularity continues uniterrupted, CMR has built something special: The Ford GT40 of the team Shelby-American Inc. with the starting number 2 and 1, so the winner car with Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon as well as Ken Miles and Denis Hulme at the steering wheel, and all this in a reprsentative presentation box in the blue of sponsor Gulf. Under the item number 4305455BOX this must have for collectors is now available.

The movie "Ford v Ferrari" picked up the rivalry between Ford and Ferrari and the victory at the legendary endurcance race in the 1960s and thus shows the history of origin of the Ford GT40. The 34th edition of the endurance race, held on June 18th and 19th, 1966, ended very dramatically: Ken Miles on No. 2 was supposed to be the sure winner after a superior race to the finish line, but had to defeat the McLaren / Amon pairing give. It was the tightest finish line of all time at the Sarthe: Both Fords had achieved the same average speed of 210.795 kilometers per hour. Since the McLaren / Amon car was 40 yards, or about 36.6 meters, behind the GT40 from Miles and Hulme on the grid, 25 yards decided between victory and defeat.

This little more distance was the decisive factor in declaring Ken Miles as one of the most unlucky second in Le Mans who ever crossed the finish line. The process about the arrival is also the dramatic climax of the movie. the modelcars by CMR replicate the role models in proportion and appearance in a perfect way and also know how to convince with the details about the front and rear bumper. Printing and coloring are perfectly done; the replica of the wheels with its central lock, too. For the fans who want to focus on the winner of the hearts of Le Mans 1966 alone - so Ken Miles on No. 2 - CMR offers the same box under item number 43055BOX, but only equipped with this model. By the way, both boxes are exclusively available at ck-modelcars.de!
