With the model series G30, the car manufacturer BMW presented its seventh generation of the 5 Series in the showrooms of the dealers and branches in February 2017, to which modelcar manufacturer Kyosho delivered first modelcars in scale 1:18. The miniatures are produced of diecast-zinc and have lots of details as all around opening doors and hoods. The 5 Series of the lastest generation first came into the trade with two colors, in bluegrey-metallic under the item number 80432413788 as well as in sophisto grey under 80432413789. With the here presented version in mineral-white, Kyosho is now expanding its range under the item number 08941W. Six functional parts and an absolute matching appearance of the external appearance result in sum miniatures, which are worth their price. We take a closer look on the modelcars.
In addition to the excellent detailing, the collector gets a build quality that leaves nothing to be desired and also meets the premium demands of the brand BMW in the model. No wonder, because the label Kyosho has been in the back of the mind of modelcar fans for many years as a supplier of high-quality products. BMW made a good choice to issue the license to manufacture the current 5 Series sedan there. The modelcars are presented in a finish that cannot be topped: the six functional parts close flush with the diecast environment; the gaps are perfect. The collectors do not have to be told that the miniaturization of the BMW-typical kidney grille and the air intake panels underneath also fit: We know nothing else from Kyosho. The lines around the headlights and the headlights themselves: Really successful!
We find the ironing door handles as separate parts; the exterior mirror housings are knowledgeable and have been replicated in true-to-life colors. A small navigation antenna sits on the roof. Alloy wheels, brake system and tires are top-class craftsmanship: the key word for evaluating the interior. The mold makers have reproduced the dashboard with the instruments and the steering wheel in a way that it is better not to do. As the 520i, 530i and 540i, the G30 offered two four- and one six-cylinder in-line engines with turbochargers at the time of the market launch, and thus developed from 135 kW / 184 hp to 250 kW / 340 hp. Shifted via eight-speed automatic; all-wheel drive is available for the 530i and 540i. With the Diesel-engines, the new 5 Series goes from 140 kW / 190 hp to 235 kW / 320 hp with six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission to the start.
