The Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team completes its first drive with the racing cars of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas for the coming season on February 14th, 2020, so Friday in a week. On these cars one will see a new branding, because the German-British team cooperates for several years with the high performance computing-company AMD. This year's season starts on March 15th, 2020, in the Australian Melbourne and ends in November 29th in Abu Dhabi: With its 22 races and thus one more race than in the previous year, the 71st season is going to be the longest of the Formula-1-history. On February 4th, 2020, the team management announced a partnership of several years with the leading high-performance computing-company AMD, a technology provider for supercomputers, simulations, PCs and data centers. The new partnership therefore combines the passion of the two companies for extreme performance. In the season 2020, the AMD logos will be visible on both sides of the cockpit of the new racing car, on the drivers' racing suits, team clothing and the engineering island in the box. As part of the collaboration, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 team will use commercial solutions from AMD to optimize their different work processes, including AMD EPYC™ server processors and AMD Ryzen™ PRO laptop processors.
