This morning in the company: What are we goins to write on the Day of German Unity? An article related to our favorite topic, collecting model cars. So far the plan. But with what content? Shall we talk about Wartburg and Trabant? Or the opinion of politicians from East and West to car models in 1:43 scale and 1:18? Which model car like standing at the top politicians in the living room?
Our boss said, however: too much politics. So we write on the occasion of the Day of German Unity on a vehicle that may seem simple, every German and to which we all agree: We write about the Porsche 911 and manage the delivery of a limited edition of 1,008 units 991 GT3 RS model 2015 in Rhodium in 1:43 scale by Minichamps as an opportunity to dedicate ourselves to the favorite sports car of the Germans.
The Porsche 911 GT3 RS Series 991
When Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a very hot Renner as Porsche works driver Brendon Hartley explained and demonstrated in detail in the above embedded video. Hartley is not quite so well known in Germany, but does a decent job. The winning car from Le Mans 2015 - the Porsche 919 Hybrid - ran until the last weekend in Austin (USA) with its help for the third win in a row: Hartley (NZ), Timo Bernhard (Germany) and Mark Webber (AUS) won the six-hour race in the Texan capital, the fifth of 8 rounds of the FIA ??World Endurance Championship 2015. There is no question that Hartley thus can deal well with the 911 GT3 RS. And it is true - albeit in a different way - for the team of Paul G. Lang and Romy, whose form has presented engineers with the 911 GT3 RS 1:43 scale, a true masterpiece.
911 GT3 now commercially program
Minichamps brought the small 911 GT3 RS in March 2015 already as an advertising model in 3 colors. With the model in Rhodium-Metallic the premium label has expanded its specialized trade program 1:43; made of die-cast zinc. As with all nine yourselfers meets Minichamps appearance and look of the design of the model perfectly. Every little detail convinces - especially the unique front Radhausentlüftungen ranging as in thoroughbred racing sports cars in the top of the fender and increase the downforce on the front axle. The 911 GT3 RS has, incidentally, the widest standard tires of all nine-eleven. The result shows us Brendon Hartley in the video: agile steering response and higher cornering speeds; to have everyone from 181,690.00 euros including VAT.
Key data on the 911 GT3 RS
Modifications to drive, aerodynamics and lightweight construction boost performance compared to the 911 GT3 again clearly: With a lap time of 7 minutes and 20 seconds exceeds the new 911 GT3 RS on the Nürburgring Nordschleife even the best value of the super sports car Carrera GT by just under 7 minutes and 29 seconds. The historical success of the Carrera GT is thus pulverized by the house.
The 911 GT3 RS is powered by a 4.0 liter six-cylinder engine with 368 kW / 500 hp. Its maximum torque is 460 Newton-meters (Nm). The force transmits the 911 GT3 RS with a specially designed PDK transmission. The displacement naturally aspirated engine with largest and most powerful direct injection in the 911-family accelerates the sports car in 3.3 seconds from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour and in 10.9 seconds in the 200. The consumption in the NEDC combined is 12.7 liters per 100 kilometers.
The body comes from the 911 Turbo. The roof is made of magnesium for the first time, engine and trunk lid made of carbon fiber and other lightweight components made of alternative materials. Thus, the RS model weighs around 10 kilograms less than the 911 GT3; The lightweight roof also lowers the center of gravity of the sports car, thereby improving him to own transverse dynamics.
A 30-cm-wide depression runs centrally over CFRP bonnet and magnesium roof; Minichamps has this important detail very well taken and had to build a new form.
