Heartbeat finale at the 49th ADAC TOTAL 24h race on the Nordschleife: In the end, the victorious Manthey-Porsche was just 8.817 seconds ahead of the second-placed ROWE-BMW. Places three to seven were separated by just 5.6 seconds.

A long break due to fog meant that after the restart, the clock only had three and a half hours of driving time. The result: the 24-hour race was decided by a sprint race.

In fact, the race set a new record with a driving time of just under ten hours. This was once again due to the weather conditions on the Nürburgring, which made longer driving impossible.

In the end, it was tight in many of the 24 different classes: Whether the Porsche Cayman Cup, production cars up to 2,000 cc with turbo, specials up to 2,600 cc with turbo and up to 4,000 cc with turbo, GT4 or TCR: This is where the decisions about victory were made very close.

The supporting program was once again top-class: the young and old-timers started the 3-hour classic race for the 30th time, the touring car world cup was there for the seventh time and the Nürburgring circuit challenge, Germany's oldest and largest popular sport series, opened the race as usual on Thursday morning. The event was rounded off by a premiere: the first appearance of the touring car legends from the former DTM.
