Norev is and remains the supplier of model cars of current models of the French car makers. Citroën subsidiary DS is also one of the licensors and has licensed and commissioned models of the DS 4. The four-door sedan with sloping tail has been marketed under this name since November 2015 and appeared the following year as a special version PerformanceLine. Norev has converted the car into a scale of 1:43 under item number 155458, whereby a maximum of attention has been developed to work out the special differences in equipment and looks compared to the serial vehicle. As is the case with Norev, the look and look exactly match the model; The proportions and lines are first class. The handy radiator grille meets our heart.

We want to devote ourselves to the scope of the PerformanceLine, because some collectors may not recognize immediately what the specific features of the additional equipment are. That is why we want to explain this and at the same time see how and whether Norev has transferred the characteristics of the PerformanceLine into the model. Let's start with the 18 inch light metal rims "Brisbane", which are delivered in black optics with crimson wheel hub covers. The engineers from Vaulx-en-Vaulin met the same detail as the two-tone paint finish of the body, the roof of which is part of the PerformanceLine in Perla-Negra-Schwarz. Colors play a special role at the DS Performance Line: the carmine red stands for passion, the white for pure elegance and the gold for the victory.

According to this philosophy, the performance line emblem can be found on the bonnet and the front doors. These remain closed in the Modellauto according to today's standards. Therefore, we see nothing of the chrome entry rails. Under the hood of the model DS offers the DS 4 but with all engines of the output variant, which from 84 kW / 114 PS to 147 kW / 200 PS afford. Back to the model: The exterior mirror housing is modeled according to the model in Perla-Nera-black with emblem and chrome-plated foot; The black roof spoiler is also found in the model car. The side protection strips in chrome, of course, are missing. In the interior, Norev also took into account the decorative seams and decorative elements.

Not everything is possible in 1:43

Aluminum pedals are silvered in the model and made of plastic, but the optional audio system with navigation and touch screen authentic reproduction should be an almost hopeless undertaking in this size; As well as the optional DS Connect Box including emergency and assistance system with geolocation. The standard parking aid with front and rear distance sensors is not visible; As well as air conditioning, dead angle assistant and fog lamps with static cornering light. These subtleties are part of the performance line, but can not be reproduced so well in the 1:43 format. Nevertheless, the Modellauto convinces us without any restrictions and is a convincing ambassador for the still young brand DS.

A vision of light in design

DS Automobiles has styled the performance line with its engineporting department and wants to combine the spirit of the Gran Turismo with refinement and dynamism with this line and its elegant equipment package. We like it well, but the cars of DS show through chic, extraordinary lines and inimitable designed, but also superb craftsmanship. They are less boring than comparable offers from Germany, which always promise the future, but are more noticeable by recall campaigns. Nicely from Norev and DS, that the elegance of the Citroën daughter can now move into the Sammlervitrinen.
